ITINERARY FOR SCOTLAND

Good choice! You’re heading in the right direction to witness one of the most beautiful countries in the world – Scotland! This itinerary for Scotland will help you narrow down where you need to visit to discover the best of Scotland.

Although Scotland is a relatively small country, it’s feature-packed with some of the best castles, whiskey’s, hikes, and road trips that Europe has to offer — feeling a little overwhelmed? Dont worry we have you covered below with when to visit, what to pack, and the cost to travel Scotland.

WHEN TO VISIT SCOTLAND

When should you visit Scotland? This is a tough question for us to answer but Winter or Summer you’ll not be disappointed.

Summer – Scotland has exceptionally long days during the summer period up to 17.5 hour days due to being so far north of the equator. Therefore, if hiking, exploring and sightseeing is what you’re after I suggest the summer period. Better weather is typical during August & September months (for Scotland, but still rains a lot) The purple heather in combination with the green landscape makes for an exceptional sight. The negative side to summer, midges!

Winter – In contrast to the summer months winter has short, cold and windy days. Although this may sound terrible, crowds and prices are lower compared to high season. With short days, snowy landscapes and freezing temperatures make perfect conditions for photographers & adventures.’

Tour operates are more likely to operate more frequante during the summer months and B&B scattered around Scotland most likely operate during June-Ocotber months.
